Pinewood Netball Club’s commitment to Child safety

Pinewood Netball Club (PNC) is committed to ensuring the rights and wellbeing of our netball players. Through creating a safe and nurturing environment that promotes positivity, we believe our children will thrive.

Through applying the governing Child Safety Policy, our club’s governance and policies, we are committed to ensuring the health and safety of our players. PNC is an inclusive club that celebrates diversity and advocates the empowerment of children through sport.

Our netball community believes in the safety and duty of care of our players.  PNC club supports  Netball Victoria’s Code of Conduct. We have zero tolerance for abuse towards players, opponents, spectators, coaches and umpires. Our club is driven to succeed through optimism and equality.

Our teams include children with mixed abilities who bring their own strengths to a team. Our dynamic approach to netball successfully nurtures players of all abilities, as demonstrated with PNC’s strong presence in the WDNA district representative teams.

PNC requires all coaches and team managers to have a current Working With Children Check. In addition, our committee members are required to complete Child Protection Course modules that educate our community with the latest Child Safety policies. We encourage all of our netball community to complete the 60-minute interactive course to further support the club’s policy to foster a safe environment for our children.

In accordance with the Child Safe Standards (2022), we are bound by a duty of care to ensure the safety of all our players. Coaches have a responsibility to manage and minimise risks. In the event of an injury occurring, PNC has the right to appropriately manage the situation by providing first aid and, in the event of a parent/guardian’s absence, calling an ambulance if deemed necessary. As stipulated in our terms and conditions, the club will not incur any associated fees with implementing actions that ensure the safety of its players.
